LED turn signal model year compatibility

LED turn signal model year compatibility
Long story short, I sold a passenger side LED turn signal lamp on Ebay from my 2013 ES350, and the buyer said it doesn't work when he plugs it into his ES350 (his lamp lights but is cracked). The pictures he sent me show a headlight and bumper fog light area (to show a working turn signal, I guess) that is a 2016 to 2018 model year. He claims his is a 2015 model year, but the headlight doesn't match the 2013-2015 design of the 6th gen from all the googling I can do. Also, the LED lamp looks a bit different from my 2013 lamp.
Also, on the Lexus part sites, there is a different part number for a 2013-2015 LED signal lamp (81730-76010) versus the 2016 LED lamp (81730-50120). Can they really be that incompatible? Is it just the slightly different "style" that causes the part number change? Could it be a difference in polarity on the wiring? Or a voltage difference? I'm just trying to figure this out. The buyer wants to test bench it on Monday, which seems a bit weird that they can't do it sooner, but maybe they can't get to the right equipment until then.
A shot in the dark that someone here has the knowledge or experience to know.
Thanks.
