Considering I had not noticed what was under the dash until I checked for this thread, it does not bother me. Working on electrical issues when helping my friend at his repair shop, I never did enjoy removing all the under dash covers many manufacturers use.
One thing I have noticed. Previous generation ES350's had multiple plastic covers over everything in the engine compartment that were not present in my engine bay. It is a pain to remove all those covers to work in there. I like mine better without them.

Agreed, my wife's RX350 has all of the covers and it just adds an extra step if you need to get to something and gives you a bunch of the plastic connectors that are so easy to lose. Better without them imo.

Agree, I feel Engine Cover it's useless lol But then I think Interior should be cover up lol What if someone got a Web shoes and shake their feet and hit those wires and stuff lol
Cabling is exposed under there on just about every car I've ever seen. I was a little surprised at the bare carpet pad though. Don't usually see that on the higher end marques - the carpet usually completely covers the pad.

Totally agree man.
I remember my older car even Corolla have it covered lol
I just didn't expect a Lexus looks like that Q_Q
Not sure what's the point of saving $ 5 to $10 of carpet-_-
Maybe I'm wrong, but that isnt carpet, isnt that the like flame retardent material in case of an electrical spark or something since down there there are wires/fuses.
