Hmmm. I never heard about this. Can you post a link to the article or study that indicates the danger of these fragrance devices?

I just ran a quick Google search. This is all I found on the subject: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-...l#post10889747

Looks like very little documentation or research (read NONE) to validate the claim that inhaling Febreeze or Glade products leads to cancer... However I won't be using it in my Lexus for fear of leakage... Thanks Mike728.

It managed to take the finish off of this trim piece so it must be safe to inhale. Is that the logic here?

Mr. Clean pads will also remove the paint in your car but I've not heard of it being blamed for Cancer...

Please post the article you read supporting this claim...

I sent the company who made the product an email and sent them details on what happened. They required some car details and want me to take it to the Lexus dealership and an upholstery shop and get a quote for both. After this, which I plan on doing both this week, I will send the documentation in and let you guys know what will happen.

Sounds encouraging. I'd get an estimate on replacing the entire damaged panel. I viewed an audio installation where the dash was disassembled and that panel was removed.

This is prob off topic but once I sprayed Lysol into the outdoor air vents to get rid of the musty smell from the AC system (like I saw someone do in a Youtube video).

My car wreaked like Lysol for days, but worse - a day later several components around the car started squeaking when I drove over bumps. It was also during that time that I developed a squeak in my steering wheel.

I know I am not imagining things..

My theory is this: Some chemical in the Lysol, even if just airborne has the ability to affect plastic components in the car and break them down. I definitely used too much and will never do that again.

Thank G.. the squeaking all around my car eventually went away except for my steering wheel.

FYI also don't get the Cabin Filter that has Baking Soda in it either. Which is also made by Febreze. Unless you want to clean out all the white powder out all the vents and panels under them .

Painting that part that the Air fresh liquid messed up is likely the best option, like someone else here said. If done proper, i doubt anyone else could even tell.
