Fabreeze Car Freshener Ruined Interior
Hello,
I purchased a fabreeze air freshener and it ruined the interior of the paint underneath the middle two vents under the right side of the clock. I drove the night before and when I came out the next morning, it was leaking and developed bubbles on the surface of the lip of the surface. I thought it was just going to clean right up, so I grabbed a tissue, and wiped it, to it resulting in the paint itself coming with the wipe. What do you think I should do? I worked hard for this car, being my first car.
Thanks.

I would look on ebay for a replacement and then find a tutorial or service manual instructions to remove and replace.
In the meantime you can try to cover it with a piece of adhesive matte black vinyl. A paint marker would work too but a nicely cut square or circle piece of vinyl would look cleaner.
The most difficult option would be to repaint the piece.
Finally, try to find the source of the odor or give the interior a good cleaning rather than using air fresheners.

After reading your post I immediately went out to the boss's Honda and removed the Febreeze clip. It was inserted into the vent splines like yours. I then measured the temp inside the car and it was over 100F. Maybe that had something to do with it. Thanks for the post...
