Stolen vehicle feature removed in 2022
I am so disappointed in Lexus. As a buying attraction, they offered the Stolen Vehicle Finder Feature, SOS, and many other features, which I'm sure was included in the price. However, now Lexus is removing that due to the 3G Network update on the older vehicles. How can Lexus do their longtime customers like that? I am so disappointed in them. I think I am going to go to another car company because they are putting many of their customers in the trick bag.

The service being discontinued was discussed back when it was announced.

Lexus should have been more prepared for this. Those with the cars unable to be updated are screwed... Here we go again with Lexus falling behind due to failure to update and renew.
Android Auto for early 2019's comes to mind...
Like I posted previously, once they have your money you're of no concern... I'm also disappointed...

Well I think that this failure to keep up with technology and, more importantly other manufacturers, reflects the reason why Lexus no longer occupies the number one position.
Don't know for sure but I think that Toyota is the largest manufacturer in the world so I really don't get why they would let things slip away...

I, too have noticed that Lexus has been slipping in features and support, probably in order to keep the price-point down. While I love my 2017 Luxury package and may buy it in May when the lease is up, should I decide to move on from it I certainly will be giving other manufacturers a look-see.

I would argue that you should always consider other brands when purchasing a new car. I have enjoyed the Lexus vehicles we have owned, but I always try out other brands when I'm in the market. We are starting the search to replace our NX and there are now many competitors in this same "Compact Luxury SUV" space. The simple fact is that for the price/value equation, the Lexus is still a strong competitor in my opinion. As one example of this point, we looked at the Lincoln Corsair, but to match the available equipment in a new NX, the Corsair would be about 10K more and doesn't have the historical reliability of the Toyota brands.
I do not want to sound like I am defending Lexus because I do agree with those that claim Lexus should have been better prepared for this, but it wasn't their fault the wireless carriers decided to drop 3G and leave Lexus owners high and dry. Despite our criticisms of Lexus, this 3G sunset did impact other companies relying on 3G as well. As I understand it, Verizon announced their 3G network sunset in 2018, however I'm not sure when the other carriers announced their sunset. It is much easier for my neighbor to replace his wireless alarm panel which operates over 3G than it will be for a vehicle manufacture to replace the 3G devices in their cars. It's a tricky problem but the core issue is that Lexus delayed moving to newer wireless technologies until after the sunset was announced. They had to know it was only a matter of time so why weren't they more proactive?
