Default Same color, same problem...

Mine is a 2010 IS 250c and I am having the same problem on the roof. Out of nowhere it just started peeling off...

Wow! You both show living in CA. I will make a point of not driving my red ES through that state!

Time to have the clear coat removed and reapply.

Lexus/Toyota aren’t the only ones with the problem: https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-...on-settlement/

Also, remember at various times different manufacturers had different issues with paint peeling/fading? I can still see some of those old pickups that were mostly down to the primer.

Yeah, that was Chevrolet contractor white on their pickup trucks and vans in the 70's/80's/90's/00's/10's Paint started falling off them after 5-6 years, gotta give a reason to buy a new one, even though the truck will run fine for another 200,000 miles before its actually worn out. Cracks me up how they never bothered to fix the issue, or maybe its just I'm looking at 20+ year old white vans that look EXACTLY like 2021 models and expecting too much lol.

my buddy had a 2 door honda civic back in the day that the whole car had clear coat failure. Apparently it was a honda issues and i think there was a recall. You don't hear lexus with these issues but it can be a 1 out of 100 sort of thing. I'd just bite the bullet and get it repainted and if the car stays outside think about getting it protected with some sort of coating or ppf

1% would be a huge issue! It appears to be more like 1 out of 1,000,000 and only red vehicles.

I had my car repainted and just got it back. Didn't like spending the money but I love the way it looks. I encourage anyone having issues to open a case with Lexus Headquarters.

The new paint looks great! I probably would have done the same thing and just fixed the paint. Looks like a very good match and paint job. GOOD LUCK!

As soon as you can and the Paint cures, make sure you put some Wax and/or Ceramic Protectant on it.

Ugh! I feel for the other red car peeling. It's heartbreaking. Call Lexus corporate and open a case. I spoke with Tim when I called (800) 255-3987. They probably won't take action at this point. The more cases they have on record, the better.
