So I SOLD my very faithful 2013 ES350 U/L just a few days ago. I did a Private Owner to Owner Sale. Listed it lots of places and someone from 3 hours away out of State came and bought it Cash. The Car had 149K on the Odometer.
In 3 1/years it only cost me $4100 in Depreciable Value. For about 3 1/2 years of driving. To say the least when I realized this, I could not be happier with a Car. I tried to think what went wrong with it, and about the only things were a Oil leak from the Oil sending sensor Toyota Dealer fixed $150, and a O2 Sensor. Before I Sold it, I had it Inspected in the Lexus Shop and they said there was not one thing they found wrong with it or that it needed.
At the end of the day, I would say the ES350 is a Great Car. I already miss the ride quality and getting in my ES350. With 149K I spent alot of time in the Car and enjoyed every min of it every time. Ill still be coming here to the ES Forum.
I attached a few pics I put on my ads of the car before I Sold it.
they don't build em like that anymore. A memory seat on the passenger side just does not exist anymore on the new gen, as well as the build quality and fit and finish.
Yea that's right it was a J Vin # car. All Built in Japan.
I didn't know they discontinued the Pass Side Memory Seat? Build Quality and Fit and Finish on my 13 U/L was a 10+. The ES stayed tight quite no noise nothing ever rattle or squeaked or made any noise even over Rail Road Tracks. LOL!
I drove my GS350 on a 10 hour Trip. It only has 37k on it. During the Trip, I wished I was in the ES.
Aww man, what a clean car. UL too! I hope the new owners enjoy it as much as we all enjoy ours. Did you replace it with a another Lexus?
Thanks. Owner call a few days ago to tell me how much Him and His Wife were enjoying it. Said they were planning a Trip.
Did not replace. Just keeping the 13 GS350 for now. In process of selling my MKS next. Wife has the Kia Optima SLX and love driving it to. Cant really figure out want I want right now.
I have that exact car and i love it. I can be driving and just say to myself wow I love this car but now after reading the thing about the transmission I got to look into that cuz I have probably 128,000 on the car bought it at 98,000 and I don't think the dealership did the 100,000 mile before they sold it to me cuz shortly after I got a card telling me my car was due for hundred thousand mile inspection I thought it was a mistake and never checked into it . I hope I won't be looking at a bad transmission cuz the car runs beautiful
2015 was the last year of the passenger memory seat.
That is not correct.
Through all of the years of the Generation 6 ES run, from 2013 through 2018, the ES with the Ultra Luxury package had the memory settings for the front passenger seat. However, all other ES trims, including the Luxury package, the Premium package, and base ES did not have the memory settings for the front passenger seat.
During the Generation 6 ES run, I owned 2 ES, a Luxury package car without the front passenger seat memory and an Ultra Luxury ES with the memory settings for the front passenger seat.
The original post just confirms why J D Power has Lexus ranked lowest in depreciation and #1 in highest depadability 10 times out of the last eleven years and #2 the other year. They also reflect the ES as the most dependable car ever in their long history.
I think you would have enjoyed a 2016 ES even more. The minor chassis upgrades makes it feel more solid on the road.
Ahhhh I drove the 2016 many times as a loner. It felt cheaper to me. Lighter also. I think the problem was it was not a fair apples to apples. My U/L had the dual pane Window glass. I also had larger tires, and polyurethane Suspension bushings. I never drove a 2016 that had those things. The struts and suspension were much softer on th 2016 than the firmer 2013 also.

Interesting observations. An Korean car publication drove them back to back and found the 2016 improved in handling and sound insulation. This was on the hybrid.
