Default Service question

Guys and Gals,

I have an ‘18 UL ES350. So far 72K trouble free miles. This car is very well built! During my last oil change the dealer recommended changing the transmission fluid. Is this normal? Is it time? If not, when should I consider? I would like some opinions of the experts here.

Thanks

Changing the ATF is a religious question,do you believe or not ...

My position is that it couldn't hurt, so if the price of having it done is not an issue, then go ahead.

It is highly recommended to change essential fluids like Transmission Fluid on recommended service schedules. In an instance that you go over those recommended miles, expect to have effects on your vehicle's performance along the way.

You've put on a lot more miles than I've got on my '18 UL ES350. Please change the transmission fluid (a drain & fill) if it's still the factory fill, and especially if it's driven in conditions as shown in the scheduled maintenance log for the 2018 ES350 below. This is to be changed every 60k miles if those conditions are met. Since you do put quite a bit of miles on your ES350, I'd say that you are doing yourself a favor if you intend to hold onto the car for the long term. There are plenty of videos out there on YouTube that shows what the fluid looks like after 60k miles.
