Hi all. I recently helped my best friend to find and buy this car. It's in "showroom condition" and has been perfect for the 6 months she's owned it. Now the check engine light is on, reading P0014 "B" camshaft position - Timing over-advanced or system performance.
120,000 miles, new oil about a month ago, Castrol Edge 0W-20. So it isn't dirty oil. The car continues to run perfectly and gas mileage is fine. Does anybody have experience with this on this engine? There is very little out there on this code in this car (or Camry/Avalon).
I'm tending toward just replacing it. Also would like to located the filter screen for the VVT system, as I've seen that could be an issue if the previous owner had let the oil get very old and dirty from time to time.
Thank you!
