Schedule maintenance display at start up
#2
Check your owners manual, or check the Lexus website for your cars specific info. It will explain how to access, set and use the Maintenance schedule. Also, there's YouTube on resetting reminders, etc.

It's on a automatic timer. X miles after the last time the reminder was reset it shows back up. I pay no attention to it since I am on my own service schedule.
The Owners Manual has instructions on clearing it. For my '13 you turn the ignition on without starting the engine and push the trip mileage button. Then, while holding the button down, start the engine and hold the button while a count down indicator next to the odometer counts down. The service reminder is now reset.
Your instructions may vary depending on model year.

Also, you can select which maintenance items trigger a warning by going into the vehicle settings on the main display screen. That is where it is for the 2016-2018 ES, but I can't recall if it is the same for the 2013-2015 ES.

Two different displays at work here. The ODO countdown timer just starts at
10,000 miles and descends down to 0. The Synthetic Oil change interval has
been 10K miles since 2010.
Triggers Maintainance Needed Soon and Maintenance Needed Now prompts.
The main dash screen for Navigation and/or Audio has a much more elaborate
set up with a dozen different parameters. I have programmed one of the three
Personal files to pop up with Happy Birthday wishes set by date rather than miles.
These are not routinely set or cleared by Shop Technicians.

For a 2013-2015 ES, you can reset the reminder alert using the method that you described. For the 2016-2018 ES, the reminder data can be reset by navigating to the settings option in the multi-information display that is between the speedometer and odometer in the main instrument cluster.
Also, you can select which maintenance items trigger a warning by going into the vehicle settings on the main display screen. That is where it is for the 2016-2018 ES, but I can't recall if it is the same for the 2013-2015 ES.

As already explained, the screen that you would use to reset and clear the "maintenance required" alerts (for a 2016-2018 ES) is the multi-information display in the main cluster. If you want to change what maintenance triggers those "maintenance required" alerts, you would do that through the vehicle settings in the settings that can be accessed through the infotainment screen in the middle of the dash.
Everything that you need to know has been explained in various posts in this thread, but, as others have suggested, you really should spend some time with the manual.

I don't follow that reminder, I'm not sure who does? Just monitor you own maintenance. No one asked what year ES you have as it varies a bit.
You can Google your year range to reset the light. It's the Start on/off button plus the Trip Odometer Reset button. Takes like 10 sec to cut off. If that's the one you are talking about.
Oil and changes are your choice, but because you asked, I change my Oil and Filter at about 7000 - 7500 miles give or take. I use Pennzoil Full synthetic and the Lex/Toy Filter only. I take it to a Toyota Dealer. Oil at Walmart is about $20, and the Toyota Dealer changes for me with their filter for $20. Just what I do.
