Default Door edge guards and body side molding - ES350

Hi everyone...I am new to this thread. Has anyone installed the door edge guards and the body side molding on an ES 350? I have a 2018 and I am thinking about installing both. What are your thoughts? Do y'all think it would look tacky?

I installed side moldings on my 2013 and they came with my 2019. Some like the look, some don't. It does afford some door ding protection. My 2019 came with the door edge guards but I wouldn't have had them otherwise... So IMO the side moldings do not look tacky... All a matter of what appeals to you the owner...

I've had these on my cars since 2010 and they were done by the manufacturer, or possibly the dealer? Anyway, mine are clear but noticeable. They do help. The only one I saw that looked tacky was the engine hood guard on a 2016 CR-V that went only half the length of the hood? Definitely Dealer installed. It too was clear and a great idea for insects other debris, but was extremely obvious. Like you tried to Saran Wrap it. However, if I lived where the bugs coat your windshield, I'd have a protector there as well. Even if it was Saran Wrap!

I installed the side moldings on my '14 ES 350 shortly after buying the car. Fairly easy to do following the included instructions. I personally like the look and additional protection but its your vehicle so do whatever you want. I think there are some older discussions and pics showing the before and after looks, if that would help you decide.
No door edge guards on mine.

I got the dealer to order and install side moldings. Helps with dings when other cars open doors in tight spaces.

I have the Lexus installation instructions if you're interested. About 10 pages and not too difficult...

Both my former 2014 and now my 2017 ES have both. I appreciate the body side molding in preventing disrespectful car door openings in parking lots. The door edge guards are not plastic but more like a vinyl overlay that are hard to discern but protect my own doors when I am disrespectful in opening them in tight spots. The dealer installed both sets at times of purchase. In any event I am a fan of both.

My 2016 came with the door edge guards. I added the spoiler and body side molding.
I am glad I have the edge guard and side moldings, they protect the paint from damage. I have a small ding in the molding from someones door that would otherwise have dinged the door paint and metal. I also like the way the molding breaks up the wide expanse of the side.

I have the body side moldings and the small spoiler on my 2013 ES350 and I like the look. But as someone else said, it's a matter of personal preference.. some like em, some don't. Personally I think they enhance the look of the car.
