Brake questions

Brake rotors and pads. Any suggestions? My 2013 ES350 3.5L comes up with several OEM "Toyota" and Lexus part numbers, which seems rather odd. Is going OEM necessary, or is there a brand you prefer? I'm just driving it, not competing with it, and read that the slotted and drilled rotors tear through pads much faster. I also am seeing Part Numbers and years that change on both rotors and pads, depending if your car is a "JPP model" Not only do I not know what that is, but how do I find out if my car is one? I've been researching two days now, and I'm not sure if I know any more than I did when I first started looking. Thanks again for all your input, helping out an "old newbie" like me.

Hey Steve, I’m not trying to put you off but when you ask a question like that you are going to get a bunch of possibly(!) contradictory answers. I recommend you just use the “Search” button up top and do a bit of reading on your own. That will give you some stuff to think about without the shading of immediate answers and opinions. After that you may want to revise your questions to get more precise or pertinent responses.
One thing I can tell you…all ES models were made in Japan until the 2016 model year came along. After that they were also built in Michigan. If your VIN starts with “J” then you have a Japanese-built car,

Thanks for clarifying the JPP part. That alone helps. I am still learning my way around the CL site, and will do my best to glean what I can.
