Default New Pirelli p7 AS plus 3 tires - Reviews/info ?

Hi,

The “p7 AS plus 3” are new tires from Pirelli, apparently to replace the P7 Cinturato all seasons. The AS plus 3’s are very new, and there are no customer reviews on tire rack, and hardly any info on the tire right now on the web.

I know that a lot of ES 350 drivers liked the p7 Cinturatos, and I wondered if anybody has experience with the new P7 AS plus 3 tires. These new tires seem to come in two different speed ratings, an H and V version.

My information is that the H, with a lower speed rating, has a smoother more cushioned ride, due to a softer side wall.

I’m also wondering whether the people who liked the p7 Cinturatos on the ES 350 had the H speed rating or the V speed rating (the cinturato also originally came in two speed ratings).

Thanks

I need to buy new tires for my 2004 LS430 and they no longer make the Dunlop Sport 5000 M, the OEM tire. I am looking at the p7 AS plus 3. They appear to be a decent replacement, but I'm wondering about the noise and comfortable. Does any have them on there LS430?

Default Looking to buy tires for my LS430 2004

OEM Dunlop tires discontinued. The Pirelli P7 AS Plus 3 H seems to be a decent replacement, but I would like to know about the noise and comfortable. Is anyone running them on their LS430 that can comment? My email is jamesmcarlo@aol.com

I bought a set of the P7 A/S Plus 2's in December when they were on closeout. 225/45/R18's. I believe they are H-rated I believe.

5,000 miles later: Road noise hasn't changed. They're not as quiet as the Goodyears that they replaced, but they're not too loud either.

The first few thousand miles, I noticed some tramlining while driving on grooved highway. Lately I have noticed that I don't notice it much at all now, it doesn't seem to be an issue now. Maybe just needed to be broken in a bit, although I haven't seen any appreciable tread wear.

Handling: Cornering and overall feedback with the P7's is much better than the Goodyears were. The sidewalls definitely seem stiffer, and they do ride slightly more rigid that the Goodyears, but I wanted the extra feedback and tightness of the P7's, so it's a tradeoff that I'm content with.

Could be wrong, but I would hope that the P7 3's are similar to the previous version.

I bought Michelin defenders at Discount tire, they were terribly loud, noise varied depending on pavement, I had Nexen CP671 from when I bought the car a year and a half earlier, even with 20000 miles, those were quieter. I ended up upgrading to the Primacy MVV4, I’m very happy with them. The Pirellis were back ordered but I was hesitant to try another set and have to swap again, I would not recommend the Defender at all, if the P7 had been available initially I may have tried them, discount tire is very good about returns for customer satisfaction. I’m also in a 2014 ES350, the Primacy is so smooth and quiet. I paid around $860 out the door after sales and discounts. I do like the looks of the P7 for the record, I’ve just never driven on them, Sams club is always showing them back ordered as well.

Using the Primacy 4. Comfortable and quiet. No complaints here.

What would you recommend instead for decent handling and quietness on a 13’ ES350? 225/45R18

Kiska, you’ve said the same thing 4 times. Please explain how you arrived at your opinion.

IMO the best tires on the market are the Continental Pure Contact LS. I put a set on my 2018 ES 350 this past spring and love them. They ride and handle beautifully. They are extremely quiet on paved roads and at highway speeds. They handle corners aggressively and assuredly with almost no side roll. They also are expected to have a long tread life. I don’t believe that you can find a better tire in today’s market. These Continental Pure Contact LS tires are a new entry for 2022 (I believe) and are fairly pricey, but they are worth every penny! You honestly won’t regret purchasing these tires, I guarantee it! Best new luxury sports tire ever made with all the contemporary engineering having gone into the R&D, development, and manufacturing of this 21st century top of the line modified vehicle rubber!
