Default My ES300h nearing 100,000 miles

Other than changing the oil religiously and periodically checking fluids (and changing coolant once), my 2015 ES300h hasnt had any other things done. I'm still on the original battery and brake pads. The car is nearly at 100,000 miles (almost all highway).

I was thinking that something needs to be done to the car...is there something that I need to do? Is there a timing belt? Transmission fluid change? Coolant again? Brake fluid? Anything? I changed tires twice (a new set just recently).

The car drives like new.

Thanks.

After 50k miles from first change you should change engine coolant and inverter coolant.

The brake fluid should have been changed every 30k miles so this is a must at this point. Especially with the sensitive brake booster/actuator pump these vehicles have.

You could test the 12v battery.

Brake pads could be fine till 150-200k miles depending how aggressively you drive.

Some people change the lifetime transaxle WS fluid at 100k or 120k but this service is not in the manual.

However another service not in the manual but it is absolutely necessary is to take out and clean the hybrid fan and filter to protect the expensive traction battery from overheating.

Unlikely the OP needs to clean the fan as it’s a 2017 model with inlet filter (unlike 2013-2015). And the Op mentioned he vacuums the inlet all the time.

Oil every 10,000 miles, brake fluid every 30,000 and coolant every 100,000 miles. I never go in and say I need the 30,000 or 40,000 mile service etc. I request everything alacarte. I calculated for both our 2017 RXh and ESh we spend about $450 for both through 40,000 miles. The air and cabin filter I change once a year. Both cost $40 and takes less then five minutes for both.

I just passed 120K miles on my 2014. The spark plugs were the "big" item, otherwise, it's been simple maintenance. Oil changes at 10K, rotate tires every 5K. Oh, and just replaced the front brakes, too--probably should've done all four, oh well.

Nice, easy car to own!

Alas, I have the 2015 ES300h. How do I clean the fan? Do I have to remove the rear seat? Is there a way to add a filter on my own?

175K miles on a 2014. Everything original but brakes, tires and fluid.
Going to look into cleaning the fan now.

Yes, you have to remove the seat. You can add the filter from the 2016 model to your 2015.
