Hi
The dealer recommends cleaning the hybrid battery filter at 80,000 miles on a 2016 ES300h.
I have seen this mentioned somewhere about making sure that the battery intake is clean, but yet the user manual says that the hybrid battery does not need any service. Is this really necessary?
they will charge $400 for all of this service package:
so regarding high voltage battery cleaning - at 80,000 miles, the dealer says their package is:
"
The owners manual does not say anything about cleaning high voltage battery filter. Is this necessary?

That is a typical high dealer price for those services. The hybrid battery filter should be changed and the ducts cleaned so that the battery stays cool which prolongs its life.
An indpendent shop could do all of them for maybe half that amount. Changing the oil & filter and cabin air filter are basic. When they rotate the tires they will inspect the brakes, so that takes no extra time. A battery test takes 3 minutes. Cleaning the hybrid battery filter is also easy and there are many youtube videos.
