Default What is this green dot on the strut mount?

I was putting my strut back in and then noticed that it has a green dot on it.

Does anyone know what it indicates?

The mount itself looks symmetrical for the exception of two very thin foam pads.

Not sure why it matters or which direction it should face..

The other foam pad is on the right in the shadow.

It’s QC at factory.

Do you know that for sure from some source?

Then why would it have pads on only one side?

pads have nothing to do with QC.

Yeah I know.

But wouldn’t you say pads on one side indicates that there is an orientation?

Take a close look at the body where the struts were mounted to see if the foam pads left a witness mark.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah thats what I did, and matched the marks though I'm not sure they're right since somebody else changed them out the last time. I was just wondering what is going on here.
