Default Which 6th Gen?

I'm in the market for a 6th gen and have seen some confusing statements on here. Some posters claim that the 13s and 14s had a better build quality, double pane windows and a generally better ride. They also say that those were made in Japan, as if they stopped doing that in 2014, not sure if they did or not.

The post facelift (2016) people say "that" car has a better ride and a stiffer suspension. What gives?

You’ll drive yourself crazy , everyone has an opinion on “what’s best”. Yes, there might be a few niggles here and there for one over the other. The strategy is to find any of them with lower miles, no accidents, decent service records , and not visibly abused. With an inspection.
I looked for mine, 2014, for quite a while, bought in 2017, still happy with it.

just put forth the effort, and find a good one.

Huh? Mine is a 2016, made in Japan, double pane glass, and no issue with build or ride quality. It has a stiffer chassis and better safety that pre facelift.

Agreed with st1800. For what I know, mine is a 2014 ES/UL (ultra lux). Only the ultra Liz had double pane windows on the front sides. And I’ve heard that not all of them (mine does). From 2016 or so, ESs are made in Japan and Kentucky. There has not been any difference in quality that I’ve read about.

Yes, you’ll go crazy looking for all the minor differences. Do what st1800 says and you’ll be happy. Get what you want, not what others have. =)

Gook luck!

Mine is not Ultra-Lux (no panorama roof, no driver seat extender, no rear sunshade, no parking or blind spot sensors, etc) but does have laminated front door glass. You can easily tell by looking along the top of the side windows. Agree 100% with others…find one with no major accidents (busted windshield on an 8-year old is irrelevant but may show as an “accident” on Carfax), low mileage, not abused (independant mechanic check and good road test), and you should be fine. There are websites where you can look up the brochures for the various model years to see what the different “packages” included…they changed from year to year.
