Our 14 ES300h has a donut. We are experiencing the "----" on all of the tires on the screen. Recently started happening as the weather started getting colder. The first time it happened, the psi would display after driving around, but now it doesn't seem to display anymore. Wife just confirmed this morning once she got to work that the psi did not show throughout the drive..
Well, you're ES didn't come that way, unless you bought it outside of the country.
It seems that some 14s may have come with a full size spare…not sure why or what option code would have called for it but here’s a page out of my ‘14 manual. Since this year was all Japanese build…? Mine is also donut.

From past discussions, it was not something that came from the factory. I believe it could be purchased afterwards, so that's probably how he got his. It was standard in other countries.
Ok, probably around the time to get replaced. I hope the tires aren't original.
Lol not the original tires. So change out TPMS and problem should go away. Is this something that I can have done at the local Discount Tire? Do I need to purchase the parts beforehand or anything?
You should not have to buy anything; the shop can provide you with new sensors. If the shop can "read" the original sensors and get their ID numbers (all will be different) then they can get aftermarket sensors that can be "programmed" to have the same numbers...or "ID"...and avoid the necessity of having to reprogram the TPMS monitoring system in the car. Otherwise the shop will install new sensors with different ID numbers and then reprogram the car itself so that it "looks for" the new IDs. For an example, here is a screen shot taken from mine with the original TPM sensor registration numbers.

If the car does have the full size spare with the sensor then the TPM system has to be programmed to "look for" the fifth sensor. Not sure if that's something the dealer can do with Techstream (quite possible) or not. Anyway, wondering why they'd equip some with the full size spare and some without...customer demand? Can anyone ordering/buying a new ES recall if they were ever offered the option?

I'm now questioning Heidihidin's claim that their spare is registered.
"For the 5th generation ES350 (2007-2012), you can register all 5 sensors in the TPMS ECU. However, for the 6th generation ES350/ES300h (20013-2017), only 4 sensors are allowed. I normally use TechStream software to update the sensor IDs every time I rotate the tires that involves the full size spare. The extra step is somewhat inconvenient but it only takes a few minutes. Having the full size spare gives us a little more confidence on long road trips." https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-...ml#post9957724
You're a newer member, so I understand you don't know the history of these many discussions from back in the day. All I can say is that no one in the US has ever come forward to state that they ordered a new 6th gen ES with a full sized spare.
I don't doubt what you are saying about not buying with the full size spare in the US, Mike. I do, however have to wonder why Lexus would put in their own manual, that you might have a donut spare or a full size spare. That show up in both the on-line manual (now no longer available) and in the print manual. Maybe that's only the Canadian manual? It would be interesting if someone in the US could take a look at their print manual and check?..... Or maybe it is just something that got past the editors when the Gen 6 manual was first printed? (ya, I know...check the '13 manual too). Not knowing from where I sit but if I had my 'druthers, I'druther have the full size spare too. Oh... and "newer member"? I suppose if 4-1/2 years is "newer".
ps...maybe someone put a full size spare from the Gen 5 in the trunk of the car that heidihdin hasl.. if he/she is reading this, can you say whether there are 4 tire pressures or 5 displayed on the dash? (Still, why is the option shown in the manual?) Very strange.
