Hidden Service Menu
Has anybody tried this? I did... I could not find anything useful.
I saw this on the IS thread and gave it a try and it works.
Switch on to the accessories. Press and Hold MENU button and flicker the park light from off to on several times and screen will switch to service menu. To exit press and hold the MAP button.
I would do this outside so the automatic DRL will not turn on the main headlight. You don't want to flicker the main headlight, not good for HID lamp.
- switch on accessories I or II.
- press and hold MENU button.
- from auto DRL to park light, switch it on and off until screen change. This is probably 4 or 5 times.
- to exit, switch off or press and hold MAP button until screen reboots.

What exactly is in the service menu? Is it just information, or does it allow you to do anything?

All cars have these kinds of back doors. The "code sequences" are kept very tight and secret. Every now and then one gets out. I'll have to try this on my '13 ES for the fun of it. Looks like this one got out?

So I tried this on my 2014 ES and it worked. The screen has a green background and has several menus to surf through. Heh, if you're paranoid you can turn off the black box that records your driving! I ran a diagnostic of the hard drive...it still works. Ha! Otherwise, not much to do. You can get details on the GPS and diagnose most of the sensors, etc. Kinda cool but not much use for "working" cars.
