Default System update for 2016 ES350

I see that the first update for the operating system for the 2016 ES350 is available today. I just installed it without issues on mine, which has navigation. One of the problems I had with the initial software is that I often couldn't select screens past the first when there were too many options to fit on a single screen. This problem appears to be fixed from my limited testing. Lexus says that they fixed the following issues in this update:

-Voice Recognition is Inoperative
-Reset while making a turn off of the highlighted route
-Navigation system reboots intermittently

There is also a comment in the notes about "may also be other enhancements included in the update."

The update is at https://securedp.lexus.com/download-app/getUpdates

Well, I'm still having issues with the up/down arrows and buttons on some of the screens occasionally. I hope they get around to fixing it one of these years.

I just checked and there is also an update for the 2015 ES350 and ES300h posted yesterday. Thanks for the heads up!

Hello my fellow Lexonians,

That reminds me of an issue I get on my ES 350 2016 using the Nav to find Points of Interests, i.e., restaurants. It shows the 5 closest ones,

but there's no arrow active to allow you to scroll through anymore. So if you're after a restaurant you heard of that's just 5 miles away, it'll first

display the 5 McDs and Subways that are right near you, and you never can get to the nice restaurant. I wonder if this was 'fixed' with this update?

How does one install an update?

If you go to the link provided in the OP and select the update that you want and, then, click on "get updates", it will take you to the update download page, and the instructions for downloading and installing the update are on that page.

Thanks man! Do you know if it does anything with that Navigation 'error' ? That's really my only issue with the car, lol

According to the information in the link, this is what the update does:

"This update is designed to improve the performance of your multimedia system. Updates include the following:
-Voice Recognition is Inoperative
-Reset while making a turn off of the highlighted route
-Navigation system reboots intermittently"

It says nothing about the issue that you described, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the update doesn't have other fixes besides the stated ones.

I had the system reboot unexpectedly once. I'm not sure whether it was due to the problem that they fixed.

Thanks. If anyone notices other particular things that they have changed, please post!

This software system update is (as of this second) not coming up on the Lexus site. Wonder if they had an issue, or another patch is coming? Any ideas?

I have not updated since purchasing my 2016 since I bought it in September of 2016. I thought when I had checked at one point there was an update available but now when I check it says no updates available. Any thoughts? I am hoping for voice command improvements. I am tired of hearing that it doesn't understand me. I have started using the Enform destination app which is the only viable option for getting any use out of the voice command button.
