Seeking your advice on getting ES 350

It’s definitely lower than previous models. Looks nice but when you’re (ahem) a gentleman of a certain age (ahem) it’s not as easy to get in and out of.

It has pluses and minuses, like any car. Compared to other sedans in its class, it is on the comfortably luxurious rather than the sporty end of the spectrum, and it fills that role well. Add in the excellent reliability/durability and luxury-level dealer experience, and it's well worth your money if that's the kind of car you're looking for.

-It's pretty low. The driveway curb scrapes my front and back bumper if I don't approach it at an angle. Tolerable but not the worst.
-Location of USB ports
-All of the lights (headlights, reverse bulbs, etc.) are fixed. I can't upgrade the bulbs myself and the only way to upgrade is a new headlight itself.
^I actually put thought into this and surprised that this is all that I can think of. The car drives incredibly smooth and it genuinely sparks me so much joy whenever I get into it.

Ok !! that is funny. Its actually about 50 miles at most. Its parked well, I drive it a bit and put it back. For my daily commute it is the Audi Q5, which is due for a service soon so then I'll be driving the ES constantly. but yes in those 35 miles I didn't notice any issues. But then again, I was mainly checking out the music system. It took me few days to get the ceramic coating on it, then the tinting and finally the carpet. I also purchased the exact screen shade. It takes time !!! hence such low miles 😂😂😂😂

I don't like the factory ambient light. It barely lights up. I had to put my hand close to it to ensure it is the light or an external ambient lighting. Why would they make it as such. They have put in the effort to make it right but not bright?

Yeah that's actually come as a bit of a surprise to me. I've driven a lot of cars and am not easily impressed, and didn't really expect to feel any different with my ES 300h. But after a few months it has surprised me at what a pleasant car it is to drive. Not exciting of course, but definitely pleasant.

Covercraft UVS100 Custom Sunscreen | UV11605SV | Compatible with Select Lexus ES Models, Silver (amazon.com)
For the carpet, I got a custom created black leather over the carpet liner carper to protect the original carpet. I got it made for my audi as well and here they are quiet good in replicating on what you need. Costs about 100 usd for all 4

Just retired my 2009 Infiniti M35x with over 266k miles and bought a 2021 L certified ES 350 with 9500 miles.
It’s the only car that I think is closely compatible to the M.
So far I love my new Lexus.

I bought my 2021 two years ago and have been totally pleased with this perfect, beautiful luxury car.
HOWEVER, a good reason to hold off buying at this time may be that the car is being restyled for MY 2025 (late autumn 2024) and you may find the 2025 more to your liking. If the 2025 doesn’t appeal to you, you might be able to save some serious money buying a “leftover” but brand new 2024. That actually is my game plan, as I usually buy a new car every three or four years. Besides, prices are still up at this time. Not a buyer’s market now, like when I bought mine and my dealer was knocking around $3,000 off MSRP on top of a $2,000 Lexus corporate rebate.

My guess is the 2025 will no longer be an old school analog car, the steering will change to electric and engine will be turbo and no longer sound great.
edit: ugh! I have an IS and an ES, thought I posted this in IS forum

All the more reason for OP to check out the MY 25 and see if that suits him. If not, he then pick up a 2024 at discount.

Easy to get into
I would disagree. I find it far easier to get into the ES than most SUVs. Some of those involve a giant step up. And no I’m not short.
