Seeking your advice on getting ES 350
#31
LOL but seriously, the problem us old guys have is not climbing up but rather stooping and crouching. Murder on the back. This ES and my wife’s IS will be our last low cars while we can still enjoy them.

1) Uses regular gas
2) Insurance cost is moderate. Since I bought my new 350 ES in 2021, I’ve been paying less for full coverage on it than for my 2016 Audi 3 convertible.
This Lexus is an excellent value and a great choice, so long as it tickles your fancy!

Hmmm... Public profile indicates seanyyz is 57. So, what's up with a youngster like yourself schooling your elders like seanyyz on oldsters' infirmities?
There's differences in oldsters's problems and preferences.
I'm a tad bit longer in the tooth than seanyyz, but I'm still in seanyyz's camp that the ES is easier vehicle to get into [ as well as getting out of]. A least I don't have to carry a step ladder around with me in order to safely get into and out of the thing.

2023 (and 2024) ES are the best ES models you are getting now, so go for it.
For me, I'm considering 2 options for the future 2 years from now:
- trade in or sell my 19 ES350 Fsport for a 24 ES350 UL (I love the v6 and I want more comfy, getting old sucks lolll...)
- trade in or sell my 19 ES350 Fsport for a 24/25 RX500H or 24/25 RX350 Luxury (I want a bigger car, I never had a SUV)
(other option is if all my investments are blooming then I might keep the 19 ES and get a SUV (probably RX), and maybe a 911 as well LOL)

I have to say as much as I liked the ES, after selling it, I much more appreciate getting inside the Y. It's the perfect height to get in and out of and has the best seats in the world. The 7ES was my last (low) car, after having 20 cars!
I hope the 8ES gets taller, much like the Crown!

Two not too often mentioned additional reasons that buying the current 350 ES is a wise choice and good value:
1) Uses regular gas
2) Insurance cost is moderate. Since I bought my new 350 ES in 2021, I’ve been paying less for full coverage on it than for my 2016 Audi 3 convertible.

[QUOTE=july1988;11486387]But come on it will be 2 years from now ... if it was 6 months yeah he should wait but...
Probably 1.5 years for purchase of MY 25, to be precise, but sneak previews will leak out months before that, enabling him to decide maybe 1.0 or 1.25 years from now. That’s when his position will be strongest for making a wise choice and getting a good value
That’s actually my game plan for upgrading my 2021 at that time, though I may also just keep the 2021. Low miles and perfect condition.
And I wouldn’t count on blooming investments at that time, either. Based on all the financial ups and downs I’ve weathered through my 75 years, I’m feeling a lot of “cautious pessimism!”

And do we know for sure 2025 will be a new gen ES, they may delay it due to EV stuff etc.
As far as "investment" goes, you don't know what % of meme stocks and cryptos on my portfolio so we never know LOL

An update for 2022 and another one for 2023 makes me wonder if the new model will come before 2025 as MY26.

Still too long... let's help him get a 23 ES now LOL life is too short to wait haha, you could wait 4ever waiting a new gen. to come out.

He can always buy a new Lexus. The key is to buy it at the right time and on HIS terms. That’s been my strategy for decades it has never failed me.

Pole Position
Yes! Exactly. The recent updates do indeed suggest they may stretch this model out a bit further. For example, they ran the last generation of RX for 7 years even though previous generations had only run for 6 years. There is just no way to predict what the manufacturer is going to do, short of some sort of official press release.

Somebody up and switched out my pano. glass roof; otherwise, you could have it. I have the plain old moonroof on my Ultra Luxury. I didn’t want it anyway; otherwise, I’d gladly let you have it! I had several issues with the pano in my 19 Lux. Maybe you and Lexfinally can trade. He’s got a pano. on his Ultra Lux. that he never wanted. I’m sure he’d be glad to let you have the plain moonroof. 😀

No pano roof for me. One less thing to worry about! Have several friends who’s spent for them and tired of them quickly. After a short time, they never used ‘em. . Like me and some of the safety stuff I’ve deactivated.
