Default Touch Screen (ES 2019 FSport)

Anyone found a verified good solution to add touch screen capability to the 2019 ES Fsport Lexus model?

There's probably no GOOD solution. The screen is too far away.

Probably not the answer you want, but I think it's a bad idea, pointless. Touch screens are generally overrated, imo. But in this case specifically, our screens are set so far back it would really be silly to try to reach that far to use controls that are already much more ergonomically accessible.
Lexus moved the screens of newer models up closer to the driver to get on board with the touch screen trend, but it's still a stretch, literally, to operate it.

Many of the aftermarket solutions move the screen forward like the 2022+

I have no experience with any of them though.

I wouldn't say a touchscreen is overrated especially for things like Carplay.

I thought touchscreens were overrated before until I used my 15" touch screen which i love very much. As far as retrofit on older 7ES models, as others said, it sits too far away.

I checked both 2019-2021 and 2022 screens are they have the same connectors at the back and that lets me to believe that it will work flawlessly. In that case you can have the touch screen and the pad.
The other thing is that you would have to replace many plastics and covers.

Note: there are many many models and specs for these screens.

I prefer the touchpad. Have you tried/discovered the gentle, double-tap technique yet? Makes a big difference. Much better than pushing the touchpad down hard each time you need to select something.

Either technique is better than a touchscreen IMO. Much less distraction while driving using the pad which I can basically use without taking my eyes off the road. I know - If I had a self driving Tesla, none of this would matter

I use click 90% of the time, double tap 10%, I think it consumes more time.

Once you get into the rhythm of it, it takes about the same time and is a lot more relaxing. I find the motion of pressing down hard is annoying. Same with leaning forward for a touchscreen.

I think Lexus had it right to begin with, but had to cave due to numerous bad reviews, etc. I realize the touchpad is not for everyone, but many of us prefer it.

Wife has a 23 IS350FS with touch screen using the older infotainment software plus the console touchpad, I have a 23 ES300h with new infotainment software and touch screen only.

Ideally I like using both the pad and the touch screen in her car after living with both cars for a while. But I’d rather have a dial or d-pad like device and could live without touch screen plus it looks way better pushedbfather back and integrated.

Tesla? Can’t get past the styling inside and out, I don’t care how great the software is. If I could afford to lease a new one every two years I’d have a Taycan or Panamera hybrid but alas no.

Facts. The 2022 has both a touchscreen and the touchpad. Even with the touchscreen, I use the touchpad most of the time because it's easier. It's not a perfect touch pad and takes some getting used to but I find it more convenient.

I find that using the touchpad with CarpLay and Android Auto is painful. It takes al ot of attention to get the cursor to the point for selecting stuff on maps or other apps using the touchpad.

I actually preferer the mouse in the 16RX over the touch pad in our ES.

Mouse was even better.
I am pretty happy with the touchpad but I don’t use it too much, I use voice command a lot.
