Default Over 600 miles per tank for 7th gen ES hybrid?

I saw a post recently asking how many ES hybrid drivers had been able to go 600+ miles per tank on a 7th gen ES hybrid. I typically don’t drive until the Low Fuel alert appears but I did this time for the purpose of this test.

602.6 miles on the tank when I filled up, adding 11.4 gallons of fuel, giving me an actual 52.9 miles per gallon.

Some info:

I have a 2021 ESh base model with Premium package.
I am in USA (for gallon size purposes).
I did not drive in Eco mode at any point.
I did not hypermile nor did I try to get the best fuel economy I could, but I do always drive sensibly.

(Obviously we all know the hybrid doesn’t drive like the V6, but I have spent a collective several weeks driving V6 Lexus cars over the last few years, most recently with a 2023 ES V6 for 4 days, and to be honest I really missed the instant torque from the elector motor and it felt sluggish when I began accelerating. I think the 215hp hybrid is under appreciated. Just my take.)

Also I found it interesting to compare the on-screen fuel economy with the actual fuel economy; essentially exactly 1 mpg difference.

Amazing for a vehicle that size. Had a loaner a few years ago and on a 56 mile trip returning to dealer got 48mpg.

Very impressive. I haven't seen that mileage in my 22 yet. Had it for a year and the best mpg I've gotten was 46.5mpg, not that I'm complaining as it's still excellent mileage. I do have the F sport and perhaps drive with a bit of a heavier foot, but would be cool to see past 50mpg one day.

I've done plenty of OC to LA highway trips (about 120 miles round trip) averaging about 52.5-53.0 MPG, in my ESh.

Agree the real world electric motor power is very useful and something often overlooked for absolute 0-60 times a V6-equipped car may post.

Though I bet after driving an EV for a while, the lag of even a hybrid would be noticeable to me. I really want to test drive an ESh again. Whenever I pull next to one, what jumps out to me is how tiny all the windows are. When I had one, I thought the windows were quite large. LOL

Electric power is good in any form, but especially in pure BEV form. It's nice being able to pick a lane, any lane! in any situation, involving almost any cars, and being able to effortlessly take prime position to merge/pass, etc.

The best I've seen with my 2019 is 47.6 for the tank average. Range has been around 535 miles, but no better. And I drive in Eco mode all the time.
My Volt could not do better with the engine running.

This trip was done on 6/19/23 from Warner-Robins Ga to Lexington, KY , going thru Atlanta was a breeze since i went thru around 2:00PM and yes i know i was lucky, the
hangup came when I-40 Eastbound met I-75 Northbound, probably around 20-25 miles west of Knoxville, TN and the traffic was stop and go until i got on I-75 Northbound. Did a little better then my last post which is above.

Just filled up today and got an average of 46.8mpg this last tank, best to date. After refilling the car showed a 510 mile range. Very impressed with this car's mpg a year later.

Now if only gas would go back to under $4/gal here....

Ugggh - I won't complain with $3.25 in NJ.

sadly I have the es350 , they should make an es350 with a hybrid product so if need be we can switch the drive modes and get more gas mileage out of it. Eco shuold be hybrid and the rest should remain in the es 350 6 cyl zone

We don't have the most expensive gas in the nation anymore, temporarily at least LOL (that award goes to Washington for the time being).

Doesn't hurt anywhere near as having to fill up premium twice a week like I used to.
