A super rare sedan, indeed.

Interesting.
Cue the heated debate on the "chrome side garnish" in 3..2..1..

Where are the triple beam headlights? Does it have ML audio?

Beautiful wheels. What I wanted all along for the ESh. Disappointed its rare/limited use only though. And agree this should have triple beams...

also why 12 units? this isn't a ferrari. did they mean 12,000 units?

Well, according to a Lexus New Zealand press release, LEXUS NEW ZEALAND SEES STRONG SALES & SETS NEW EMISSIONS MILESTONES IN 2022, Lexus sold a record busting total of 1022 of ALL Lexus vehicle models for sale in New Zealand. I couldn't find specific New Zealand ES sales quantities for 2022 but the linked press release stated 309 of the 2022 sales were Lexus UXs and another article I found stated the majority of 2022 Lexus New Zealand sales were SUV model types.

Given that and using Canadian and USA Lexus ES to Total Lexus vehicle sales figures ratios a New Zealand ES sales WAG estimate might be in the range of 65ish to 165ish or 7% to 18% of New Zealand ES sales estimate WAG.

So, 12 limited edition ESs exclusive to the New Zealand market doesn't seem like an unrealistic quantity.

Everything but the wheels are off-the-shelf ES bits from various markets. The chrome grille, the under-door chrome strips, already available in Asia. The red interior is in F-sport. So what's special aside from the wheels? It looks nice tho.

Save your cash and buy a normal ESh and add custom wheels?? That would give you ONE of ONE LOL

I want the chrome trim under the doors but I'm too cheap to drop $900US+shipping for some shiny plastic https://lexusboutique.net/collection...lower-moldings

I want the rocker molding too, but like you I balked at the insane price. Wish there was something more readily available.

So 12 units for new zealand. Not total. That makes sense. I hope the US gets 2,500 units. Those wheels are crazy nice. They make the car look LS-ish. They're probably 20s? There's no direct side view I think... but too lazy to search for other pics.

As to the chrome trim on the lower rocker things--no debate. those are objectively superior to the plain ones. this car needs a bit of upscale polish to match the LS. otherwise it's too twinny to the camry.

It says:
On the outside, the ES 300h Crafted Edition offers a few distinctive features that help differentiate it from its mass-produced brethren, including a set of unique black 15-spoke 18-inch machine-faced alloy wheels, a chrome side garnish beneath the doors, and a silver front spindle grille. Customers have a total of three exterior color options to choose from as well - Titanium, Sonic Shade, and Graphite Black.

Completely agree on both counts about the chrome strip. I was going to post this comment if you didn't.
