Default Platinum ES 350

Just stumbled on this new video on You Tube. What is this beautiful Platinum version? Nice chrome trim strips on sides under doors, too.

The chrome strips under the doors are available in multiple markets outside of North America. I wish they were an option here to help dress up the slab sides.

Some markets (also outside N.A.) put the word Lexus on the trunk lid like that. I haven't heard of SAS or Platinum editions.

Platinum essentially is the version of the car in the middle east, especially UAE. Not sure about Saudi, Qatar etc but when I called Qatar, they had different names.

I got the platinum version, and it has the chrome covers on the door handle and towards the foot. It also has the lexus logo lighted up on the door. It includes the lexus display on the road below the door.

However, it does not have the Lexus logo on the rear bumper.

Completely agree about wanting the chrome strips beneath the doors. You can import them here from Japan through Lexus Boutique, but unfortunately the two strips of plastic would cost you $1,000, so that's a non-starter for me.

I added the LEXUS name to my trunk lid from NOS I purchased online - I think it looks better that way. Undoubtedly whenever the full redesign occurs, I'm sure the brand name will be spelled out on the rear to be consistent with other revised models.

Little extra touches make your version of the car a lot nicer. The side view needs dressing up just a bit. Lucky you where you live to have that availability.

NOS refers to "new old stock". This term is used for parts that are old or outdated but new sitting on a shelf. Those who are restoring a vehicle look for "NOS" parts. Applicable to any old new part.

those badges look super cheesy. like off the pep boys shelf cheesy. i doubt that's from toyota/lexus.

i went to go google this and it's just a UL with the chrome stuff on the doors and back lights.

those sas and "platinum" badges aren't there. so i believe those are some cheesy dealer adding those on. the badges don't look very good at all. poor finish, poor font, poor reflections, too crowded.

They may also be adding baseball cards attached to the wheels with clothespins to make a unique sound

Price is the only thing stopping me from buying them from that site.

I think I once posted about seeing an Acura with a TYPE S badge on it at a time when there was no Type S for that model Or going back to the days TURBO was a big thing and people were pasting badges on their cars.

Pretty sure that Platinum badge is off a Nissan.

I was just going to reply that the "Platinum" reminded me of Nissan, which is one of my least liked auto brands. Just the correlation is enough to dissuade me.
