Default ES 350 V6 Oil Change

Hello Lexus Fam,

This is my first post on the forum. I recently bought a 2023 Lexus ES 350 ultra luxury. Does anyone know what the size, and flute count, is on the oil filter wrench to be used on the canister? If you’re able to provide a link to Amazon for an exact fit, that would be great!

Also, how many quarts of oil do I put for a full oil change and what type of oil does it use?

Thank you in advance!!

I believe it's a 64MM with 14 flutes. Lexus keeps it pretty DIY friendly and standard among their lineup across Toyota was well. As for what oil type and quantity, this would be found in your manual. The oil type can typically be found on the oil cap.

64mm 14 flute sounds right. Do you have any recommendations for a specific one? Does Lexus parts sell this?

Any standard one you find on the shelf will do. I don't have a specific one, but the one I had used previously had the slots as it was a universal wrench.

5.7 quarts of 0W-20. I’ve been buying Toyota oil and filters from the dealership. Use whatever brand you choose, as long as it meets the specifications in your owners manual. Save your receipts.

I bought this one for my 2010 Lexus and it works great for the 2019, too: "Motivx Tools Oil Filter Wrench for Toyota Camry, Tundra, Tacoma, 4Runner, RAV4 and More - 64mm 14 Flute Precision CNC Machined Aluminum Oil Filter Removal Tool". I bought it on Amazon and it is still available.

I was just looking at that one! I wonder if Lexus sells the same one they use the their shops?

I appreciate you sharing the link. I was just checking the link and reviewed the pictures, and they seem to crack quite often.

I think OIL FILTER WRENCH 09228-07502 is the "official" Toyota/Lexus tool. You can search on that part number to find other sources but all the ones I've found are pretty pricey compared to the $10 knockoffs from Amazon and other auto parts/tools sellers.

Use a large socket on the “nut” of the filter wrench to loosen and tighten. They crack when people use a 3/8” extension in the center. I use a 1&1/16th” socket. I believe 27mm would be the proper metric socket.

Oh wow.... No wonder everyone's going to Amazon. $51 and it looks the same as the $10 one on Amazon...lol. Thank you for sharing though....Definitely good to know!
