ES300h Extended Warranty ?
Hi,
I'm getting a new 2024 ES300H and it comes with Manufacturer Warranty (shown below).
I usually drive my car for 10 years about 12K miles per year, so I might need extended warranty after 4 or 6 years?
Question:
Would you get an extended warranty like Lexus ExtraCare Gold?
What is essential based on your experience?
What I know:
manufacturer warranty
Basic : 4 years (y) or 50K miles, wheel alignment 1y or 12k miles
Powertrain: 6y, 70K miles
Hybrid Systems: 8y or 100K miles
Corrosion Perforation : 6y
Thanks.

I think you can wait and see if the car seems to be a good one or a troubled unit and then, if you have to/ want to keep the car longer, you can buy the extended warranty shortly before the manufacturer’s warranty expires. No advantage to making a decision now, as I understand it.

Usually extended warranties rarely pay for themselves, particularly with a highly reliable car. The only worry is that these cars have tons of electronics and the number of things that could go wrong is awfully high.
The fact that they go to a great deal of effort to push these makes me suspect they're a great deal for the dealer, not the customer.

I have a '22 ES hybrid with 31,000 km on it and it has been totally flawless. The powertrain in your 2024 has been in production now for 6+ years so they've worked the bugs out in it.
Extended warranties are for piece of mind, and don't cover everything from bumper to bumper like the initial "factory" warranty. I will not be getting an extended warranty and I don't recommend you do either but it's your money.

Nope, I have no worries at all about my 22 300h. I have a mechanic friend and he's been doing my regular maintenance. Lexus/Toyota have legendary track record, imo, and I don't doubt this car will last me well into the 100k mile range and beyond.

I recently bought a 2024 ES 300H as well, the best price I got from the dealer for the 10 year 100K platinum was over $1K more than Lexus of Shreveport's price.
They had pricing of $2,505 for the 10 year 100K and $3460 for the 10 year 125K Platinum warranty.

My dealer couldn't touch the prices, though they did say that they were aware of them. Casey also sells the prepaid service plans at a big discount as well.
