Default Trim enhancement…finally!

I have a 22 ES350 UL which I really love, but ever since I bought it I have been looking for a source for some chrome trim to fit along the rocker panels/lower door area, similar to what’s on the LX. The ES is quite slab sided, and on a dark color the bottom area of the car just is too dark and needs some delineation, a look very common on luxury oriented cars and even SUVs. A lot of readers want to enhance a sporty look but I want the exact opposite.

After months of searching I finally found a number of variations on eBay, and settled on one that is polished stainless steel, not plastic-chrome. It is attached by 3M tape which is a standard automotive application. The set did come with additional trim for the lower rear fenders, again like the LX, but I thought that was too much “look”. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Here’s a picture I took the other day. (Side note…since I got this car I have had numerous unprompted compliments on the color combo, Nightfall Mica with Palomino interior. It makes, in my eye, an elegant combination.)

The seller on eBay is ldxhjauto. I had trouble copying the direct link, for some reason. Searching for items is not always easy as sometimes you have to get just the right key words. But this is how this was described: “For Lexus ES350/300H 2018-2021 Side Skirt Body Door Side Molding Cover Trim 4Pcs”.

Note, even though the item shows 2018-2021, I contacted him first and he confirmed- and it was true - the fit for 2022 was the same (I would guess for 2023 as well, since that area of he car seems unchanged since 2018).

Any close ups? including the back door, lower area? would like to see reflectivity, shape, etc. Looks nice so far from the one pic but it's a bit far away.

Your car looks really beautiful with that modest addition. I always felt our 350 EX was sort of understated. That modest chrome addition makes a world of difference. Hope Lexus takes a look and takes a lesson!

Wow, that really looks like it could be stock. Now I can't believe Lexus didn't do that themselves!

Very nice! That looks just right the way it is without the trim on the lower rear. Less is more...

The $168.00 is okay but the additional shipping of $58 is hard to swollen. Comes from China, I guess. Not thrilled about that either. But it does look nice.

I was concerned about that too, but the trim pieces were well made and nicely polished, with the adhesive materials properly attached. All I had to do was get it aligned and peel off the backing, Shipping is high, however that may be partly due to the length of the package (sometimes package size can bump up the cost even if weight is low, which I've experienced elsewhere) but it was very strong, with thin wood added for rigidity, all of it securely wrapped and taped up. In the end, I am glad I did it for there are few alternatives, and the Lexus trim is astronomical in price, plus it requires drilling for mounting, a total no go to me. Considering what I paid for the car the price of this was small, about the same as a good detail job.

Was going to order but looking at this on a white car wouldn't have the same effect as a dark car IMO.
ALT350 car looks stunning in the dark blue.
