With regard to depreciation, I have a helpful visual representation for you. Try this enlightening experiment: hold a heavy brick at shoulder height and then release it. The speed at which the EQS's depreciation drops will make the brick's descent seem like a casual stroll in the park!

Congrats, looks great. If you don't mind, please share your journey with it on the EV chat of General forums.

You need not worry about depreciation anyway - you're basically renting the car for two years.

Anyone who knows me well would quickly notice my attention to detail for such matters.. 😃 I intended to present a visual representation of what was mentioned in a humorous yet effective way. Additionally, in agreement with your opinion, I believe that anyone who purchases this car either has an excessive amount of money and doesn't care, or they have very poor judgement... in my opinion. I will enjoy it for 2 years or less and move on to the next.

Wow, that is one sexy car. Crazy to hear about the pricing, too.

I think we all get it - enjoy the ride. I've yet to ever experience driving an EV other than bumper cars

However, the rates were not the best, and my monthly payment for the 3-year lease was $701. This was a good deal considering the market conditions at the time. When I picked up my 22 UL it was during the period with ADMs and nearly no discounts on any autos.

Regarding the 23 EQS, it was leased for a period of 2 years as a One-Pay, paying $17,934. This works out to $747 a month for 24 months, which is only slightly higher than what I paid for my $56k Lexus. I hope this provides more context and clarification.
Good choice on leasing vs. buying. Let us know how many trips you take to the dealer, and which are under the vehicles own power vs. needing to be towed.

I kid. Looks like a sweet car. I sincerely hope it serves you well.

The 2022's on Autotrader within 100 miles had 11 EQS and 7 of the 11 were titled as lemons, dealer buy backs. hopefully the quirks are ironed out on the 2023's.

This is the way $18,000 to drive and enjoy a new experience for 2 years w/o worrying for anything is not bad, makes much more sense than if purchasing this car.

If you "buy" this car, it will depreciate at least 20% right out of the door LOL and after 1 year, probably 33.33+%, that if you sell in a fair market, if sell/trade to a dealer add 15% more to the depreciation.

All EVs are selling 25% - 33% off from MSRP and still can't sell after Tesla cutting their price down almost 20%+ for all models. Is everyone going back to gas, no, market is just slowing down overall, gas cars can't sell either. We are moving forward to the future, it's EV.
