Is Toyota fueling ES speculation?

Does anyone know how soon the next ES will be announced? I'm on the verge of buying a different car so they need to hurry up and tease us for real so I can consider staying with Lexus. PHEV ES would keep me with Lexus, otherwise I'm gone.

The 8th gen ES has long been expected to reach showrooms in late 2024. As a spitball guess, I'd expect the same powertrains now offered in America on the Crown, but I don't know that part for sure by any means.

That concept image looks attractive. Maybe time to trade my 19 if something similar rolls into showrooms in a year or so🤔

What else are you considering? EV?

Yes. Ideally PHEV luxury sedan but if that doesn't exist then EV. Ideally ES PHEV or E-class PHEV or similar. Many automaker seem to be skipping PHEV and going straight to BEV which really isn't ideal for consumers IMHO. I may even just go BEV shortly and then jump back to PHEV in 2 years when what I want is actually available. The closest thing fitting the bill is the BMW 5-series but it doesn't super excite me. For BEV I'd say Tesla 3 or Ioniq 6, for PHEV I'd really, really like to stay with Toy-Lex. The spouse has a RAV4 Prime for 2.5 years and I love the powertrain but I don't like SUVs.
