Default Driver Seat Shifting

I've ignored this for a long time but I'm bored now so here I am to run it by you folks. There is a bit of play in the base of my driver seat, as if it's not quite anchored in place. When I accelerate from a stop my driver seat shifts ever so slightly backward, maybe 1/8" - like a miniature little slide followed by a hard stop. Very minimal travel but very noticeable. I'm sure it must shift forward when coming to a stop but I don't seem to notice that.
Any ideas?

It might be loose or broken mounting hardware for the seat. It's not normal and it might get worse. Take it to the dealer if still under warranty. My dad's GMG had a similar issue but that was a know issue.

Which part goes backwards? The whole seat or just the vertical part?

I had the same issue, took two trips to the dealer to resolve. First time they tried tightening all the mounting bolts. That didn't work and they ended up ordering new seat base/track and all has been good since.

Thanks, Gbell. Good to know it's happened before. I still have CPO warranty but hardly worth making the trip just for this so I'll just hang on till the end of the term.

Probably they will have to change the whole rails. Is it under warranty?

Visit your dealer and make them fix it. Also check for other problems if any so they can fix them.

The seat is part of crash safety. I encourage you to consider this worth your life and get it attended to now.
