I got the U2 Air a while back. They do not recommend to update the software if nothings wrong, but I did and it was noticeably smoother/faster.

 

Bought the Ottocast wire U2air back in late '22. No issues with it auto booting, speed of boot, lag, or sound quality with it. Converted my '22 ES from wired to wireless carplay for $68.00 (device from Amazon) and $8.00 for flat cord from Aliexpress so I could close the lid over the rig once installed.

 

I got the because I originally had an android. A bit wonky to convert it to AA but a lot smoother for Carplay. Load up is about 20-35 seconds and there's about a full second delay when you switch songs or when you play a video from your phone. Other than that, it has only crashed a total of maybe 5 times? where I had to unplug and plug back in. Sound quality sounds normal and navigating through the screen is pretty fluid.

 

Just placed an order for Ottocast U2 Air pro.
I hope iT will work OK. I hate the fricking delays and crashes.

So what’s behind that approximately 1.5” tall blank panel below the HD radio badging? Could a unit fit behind there?

Finally wound up with AutoSky. Bought on Amazon. About $40. Works like a charm with my new Apple IPhone, a 2022 SE8. Smooth sailing’ now!

 

What USB cord did you get? What does the plug end that hooks to the system look like?

 

Do you experience any delay when skipping songs?
