I am on the market for this device/adapter and I would like to get the best one. The main issue is the lag that some adapters are creating.

 

i still have mine from the old days. i should toss mine down a cliff. any way to integrate oem from the newer models? dont they have wireless now?

The carplay in my 2024 ES350 is wireless. I have a friend with a 2020, and hers is wired. I think the 23 and 24 models are wireless, but it might be only the 24s.

 

2023 is wireless as well.

 

Are you talking about an adapter to make yours wireless? It’s a $40 dongle. I bought one for my 2021. When it worked it was fine but often the volume control on the dash became inoperative. Sent it back. Got another brand. Same thing, though not as often.

 

I have the 2021 ES with wired CarPlay. I got the Ottocast U2AIR Pro from the manufacturer on sale for $79 because it was cheaper than Amazon. I really like it and it doesn’t experience a lot of the issues I’ve read that wireless CarPlay adapters have issues with.

 

I have same car as yours. Does your volume control ever become inoperative when using the adapter? If not, I’m gonna’ replace my adapter with one like yours.

 

I have not experienced that. I was worried that the volume would be lower than with the native CarPlay but it isn’t, and the quality of the audio seems the same as with the cord as well. I’m really impressed with it.

Glad I could help! FYI: As of last week, the price through Amazon was $20 higher than from Ottocast, and Ottocast ships it for free and quite quickly. I originally ordered from Amazon but canceled as soon as I realized it was cheaper from the manufacturer.
