Default Trunk Door Squeak

Annoying squeak when opened and closed. Chased the same thing on my 21yo Avalon…never found that one either. I lubed every hinge contact I can see. Any tips? Thanks.

Power tailgate?
I had this squeak for months on my ESh, I fixed the problem but I forgot how I fixed it.
I was able to hear the squeak when the tail gate started to open for maybe a second.
I hope I will remember what was the final solution.

Obviously I tried that before I posted.

I am positive these two hinges were dry:

Try to lube them with WD40.

Had it in my '19. You'll want to get way up in/underneath there and lube the areas wear the torsion bars mount. They are part number 64531 and 32 in the diagram above.

I read your post again and it's trunk door... or should be "trunk." So yes i was actually one of the first, if not the first, to find the fix for this. i posted about it before. it's the little twist beams up in the trunk. shower it in lube on the left and right side where they touch eachother. but not the smelly kind

Yeah, most obvious place to look was where torsion rods ride in metal bracket. I used a light spray lube which did nothing. I will keep looking.

I feel your pain. Like I posted earlier. I chased that damn squeak for 21 years on my Avalon.

Please try to spray some WD40 on the hinges.

I did spray with a light lubricant, I will try again. WD40 is a poor lubricant. I never use it for anything.
