I asked my dealer for details on the 'shark fin' mounted on the top of my car. I was told that one of its functions (besides being an antenna for the radio) was being a GPS receiver.
I asked him to turn off many 'features' in my car. GPS was one of them.
...
It is the GPS antenna that's located in the "shark fin". There's also a cellular network antenna and a SiriusXM satellite radio antenna located in the "shark fin". (The AM and FM radio antennas are printed wire traces located in the top portion of the rear window glass above the rear window's defroster printed heater wire traces.) There's a antenna connecting wire assembly between those antennas and all of the receiver electronics located under the front dash.

I don't think you can turn off the GPS "feature". GPS derived location data is a pretty essential part of the Safety Connect feature and SOS button related functionality. That data is what informs Lexus's Safety Connect operators where your ES is located even in cases where you and any other vehicle occupants are incapacitated in an accident and aren't able to talk to the operator.

Is GPC different from GPS?

Oops. That's a typo it should be GPS. (I've fixed it in my post since you pointed that out.)

On a non F Sport model the Multi Information Display (MID), as well as the associated controls for controlling the MID, are on the left of center side of the steering wheel.

I just consulted my manual and nothing turned up.
Let's see if I got this straight.

My super duper state of the art 2024 Lexus ES-350 has all the fancy bells and whistles and latest
smart technology included but doesn't have a sunglasses holder like my 2007 ES-350 had?

There's a long old thread on this with many suggestions. Mine stays in a case in the console or door pocket.

I did search here for 'sunglasses' but only read the first of dozens of pages.

I was hoping the manual would tell me about a 'butler robot' that would take my sunglasses and store them for me automatically.
Always available for quick retrieval by voice command of course.
Lexus you have let me down.

Throw them in your door pocket. Now figure out where you'll store your lunch

I was also disappointed that my 2020 UL did not have that needed holder. When I test drove the new RX I was amazed that it had the holder. It could have been designed for this car but wasn't. From what I have seen which I haven't done because this is my wife's car is to change out the hand assist above drivers door.

If you're super determined to have a dedicated sunglasses holder, the aftermarket has one that mounts on your overhead grab handle.

Or you could clip your sunglasses case to the sun visor.

I think I'll throw mine in the space where the HUD projects from since I never use that feature

Mine has a slot ahead of the shifter with a "rubber" cushion in it. The cushion has a nose divider and is obviously intended for glasses.

Thanks, I discovered this slot yesterday and figured it was for glasses too when I saw the nose divider.
Mine is the regular ES 350.

I was told by my dealer that GPS is only on when you enable it.
Is this true or was he mistaken?

I ask because today when I was cycling through the settings using the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel
I came to one that told me what street I was currently driving on!
How the heck could it know that without GPS?

So did it turn on GPS when I accessed that setting, or is it always on?

My dealer told me the wireless charger is only on when a phone is placed in the tray.
Watching the YouTube video from above it says:
"It is turned on and ready to charge, by default".

On pg. 276 of the manual it says:
"When the Wireless charger power supply is off". (Indicator light is off).

How do I turn off the power supply to the wireless charger?
