Default Intuitive Parking Assist Question

I thought this sonar beeping system was standard equipment on Luxury level. It’s becoming available on many lesser prestigious cars lately. Yet on some 2024 Lexus Luxury units,, I’m really surprised to see it listed as an option, sometimes by itself and sometimes hooked up with panoramic view monitor. I can’t find a price for it alone—-when it’s not hooked up with the panoramic monitor. Dealer adds that although this two feature option is supposedly available with Luxury, Lexus is currently only including it with UL.
CONFUSED!

It is a little confusing.
Intuitive Parking Assist is technically an option on the Luxury package but getting the Luxury Package requires the car to be equipped with Intuitive Parking Assist. For the base model, Intuitive Parking Assist is part of the $2430 Premium Package.

Intuitive Parking Assist with Auto Braking and Rear Cross-Traffic Braking (RCTB) $565
Requires model 9002, 9005, 9013, 9042 or 9046

Intuitive Parking Assist with Auto Braking, Rear Cross-Traffic Braking (RCTB), Rear Pedestrian Detection and Panoramic View Monitor $835
Requires model 9002, 9013, 9042 or 9046; standard on models 9004, 9014 and 9044

Whoa!! How in the world is the consumer able to process all that to decide the level of ES 350 he wants!? I certainly don’t envy those salesmen who have to cope with it all! I’m not even going to try to ask a follow up question. Too many ands, ifs and buts!
I guess this is a great incentive to buy a car from inventory rather than try to figure out a “special order,” which, I’m now told, is a actually a misnomer, as, in reality, is no such thing! Goodness. I think I’ll just keep my 2021, avoid all that confusion and live happily ever after!

Many if not most buyers find one in stock they like or on an allocation coming in and buy it just the way it is. Mine has HUD - never use it and never will. My wife's new RX has the parking gimmick and HUD - will never use it.

No idea. I've seen that before. It doesn't change anything about the build though.

Most of them don't know Lexus cars as well as we do on this forum. They just aren't detail oriented people. They are glad handers there to help you feel good. If you really quiz them on finer points of the distinction between trim levels and options, they generally make **** up.

Many dealers mislead their customers into this special order bullcrap that simply is not true. It's highly unprofessional.

I am just curious as to why they feel they get an advantage by misleading customers about special orders?

Technology and Lexus. Lexus is always a step or two behind, but at least when it makes it to Lexus, the technology is typically well proven through Toyota models already.
