Try to clean the sensors/cameras first.

Might be a part of this recall.

.....or it could just be a gremlin. There are a lot of electronics in this car. Did it stay on the next time you drove the car?

Thanks for your replies.

I decided to check the suggestions in a methodical way.
I didn't clean right away. I just drove in bright daylight.
I didn't get too far before the same warning beep and message came back on.

So I can eliminate a gremlin.

Then I cleaned the sensors with a tissue and next I did a full car wash.

I'll keep you posted if it comes back on in the next few days.

Well it seems ESh was correct with his diagnosis.
Since I washed my car, the notice stopped appearing.

In 60 years of driving I managed to back into something once. I backed out of my driveway into the neighbor across the street, as he was backing out of his driveway. Neither one saw the other...50/50 blame established by my insurance company (my neighbor didn't have insurance--good thing I had uninsured driver coverage). I only had one other accident in my life, a side swipe that I could have avoided with BSM. So, I'm thankful for both systems and it was a main decision point for upgrading from a 2011 ES 350. Otherwise, the old ES was a gem! I wouldn't dream of turning off any of the new safety features.

Well now I'm not so sure what's going on.
My car is still quite clean. I just washed it a week or two ago.

Just now I got the same message about RCTA (rear cross traffic alert), not working, see your dealer.

Could I have hyper-sensitive sensors?
Am I the only Lexus owner who has ever had this alert come up several times?

RCTA uses the same radar sensors that the Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) system uses to detect vehicles in the blind spot monitor detection areas. (See page 206 of the 2024 LEXUS ES250, ES350 OWNER'S MANUAL USA AND CANADA ONLY for the location of the sensors.)

If you have the BSM system turned on, are you getting a similar Multi Information Display (MID) BSM related “See your Dealer” warning message?

If you have BSM turned on and are not getting any BSM warning messages something other than an issue with the rear bumper located radar sensors may be causing the RCTA warning message.

Thanks for helping!
I do have my BSM turned on and I'm not getting any BSM warning messages.

I cleaned my back bumper sensors again an hour ago so I'll see if it makes any difference in the next few days.
If the warning stops, I think I'll go with the extra-sensitive theory.
If that's the case, can the sensitivity be adjusted? Many other features have user-adjustable settings.

Well it went as I expected it to go.
After I cleaned the sensors with a wiper, the warning message disappeared.

So what's the verdict on this?
Am I the only one here with extra-sensitive sensors?

I am not driving in a work zone where my car gets full of dirt/dust. It's a pretty clean, small city.

They are all the same. Especially the rear RCD camera is very sensitive to dirt.
