Question How is your ES's DRL (Day time running light) ?

I see some cars sometimes(Hyundai), LHS of the DRL is burnt out and not working whereas the other side seems to be fine.
It does look like car has closed his one eye or winking haha.
What is the life expectancy of these headlights/DRLs?
Can the day time running light portion be replaced if it is burnt out or a new headlight is needed?
I know the DRL can be disabled via ODB port. I guess I will wait until one isn't working and then can disable it?
I am sure Lexus used quality LEDs that we shouldn't need to worry about them getting burnt out as quickly like other manufacturers' do for years to come.

The DLR can be disabled right on the switch in the US. I believe that varies by country as I don’t believe Canadian owners can disable them since they are mandatory in that country.

As for longevety, I believe they are expected to last the life of the vehicle and very expensive to replace as the entire headlight unit has to be replaced if one should fail. Those I have seen frequently burnt out here in the US, like older GM trucks, are generally discreet bulbs and incandescent.

You have triple beam LED headlights. All the outside front lights (headlights, daytime running/parking lights, side marker lights, turn signal lights, and cornering lights) are contained within the sealed headlight assembly and all those lights are LED. (For Bi-LED headlights, the side marker and turn signal lights are incandescent bulbs located outside of the sealed headlight assembly.)

If you had a US sold ES, there's a DRL OFF position on the headlight switch.

I haven't seen anything official from Lexus as to the expected lifetime of the LED elements in the seal headlight unit. (One hopes the Lexus engineering department has accelerated lifetime testing data on the LED elements and assemblies and has used it in evaluating the reliability and longevity of the chosen headlight assemblies for production vehicles.) From other sources there's quite a range of lifetimes mentioned - over 30000 hours, over 50000, and a few claim 100000 hours.

I wish we could turn them off when the headlights are on instead of having everything on.
