Owner's manual says I can use 5w30 in A25-FKS in Australia
In Australia owner's manual, it says 5w30, 10w30, 0w20, 0w16 and 5w20 can be used in this engine provided it is ILSAC GF6A.
I also do not have 0w16 sticker on the engine bay like the ESs sold in the USA. Mine is empty.
I checked other ESs sold here to make sure someone didn't just rip mine off and none of them have this sticker.
Is this related to fuel economy/fuel regulations in the USA or should I stick with 0w16 anyways?
We do not have cold climate here (would barely see 41 Fahrenheit which could be the reason?).
Doing a bit of online reading, Mexico and Saudi Arabia have the same specs on their owner's manual.
It does not state that 0w16 must be used otherwise engine will be damaged.
Direct from the owner's manual:

I guess it is cold weather and good fuel economy are the reason why 0w16 makes sense. If it was required, it would have the sticker like the US models. Mine doesn't.
250 engine bay. No sticker for 0w16 requirement..
300h. No sticker on this either.

When the owner's manual clearly indicates that 10w30 can also be used, I don't think suing them will get anywhere.
I had cars in the past that said to use 5w30 only and no other viscosity was listed. In this case, if they were to use a different viscosity, that's a different story and may have a case to sue them.
I guess 0w16 isn't a choice because it costs double the price of 5w30 for the same 5 quarts.

Thanks.
I don't think Lexus would want their engines to blow up during the warranty period if 5w30 didn't meet the requirement.
There are many 0w20 engines that can also run on 5w30 as shown in their owner's manual.
