Just to update. The creak under the driver's seat is gone. But both rear door panels are still creaking. I took it back into the dealer and they shrugged their shoulders and basically seemed to want me gone. So I took it to another area dealer and they kept it for a week and told me there was nothing they could do and so I should call corporate. So I will be doing that. But I'm just really miffed and bummed that my brand new Lexus sounds worse than a 10-year-old Nissan Sentra, and the dealers seem both unconcerned and unable to do anything.

Also, I had a video of the rear kick sensor not working, as it's been not working intermittently. They avoided that issue, as well. "We can't reproduce the issue, and in the video it looks like your foot was under the trunk for too long." Sigh.

Corporate is going to get an earful from me.

1) Transmission seems a little jerky. It's usually fine but especially at slow speeds (like going slowly through my neighborhood at night) it will jump around but not as smoothly as I was expecting.
2) The pano roof squeals some when opening. It seems more pronounced when I'm opening both the roof and shade at the same time, although recently I've noticed it some when just opening the actual roof
3) The driver seat has a creak to it at times, usually when I'm moving in it (taking a turn, or even at times adjusting myself in the seat). I'm certain the sound coming from behind/below the seat, and not something I'm doing myself
4) There is an occasional creak coming from the rear passenger-side window area, usually when starting from a stop, or stopping fully. I suspect the manual sunshade housing is to blame as if I press on it then it makes the same sound. (The other side makes no sound.)
5) Today the automatic wipers suddenly started wiping at a fairly brisk pace even though there had been no rain for at least 5 mins and the windshield was clear. I had to click it off then back on to stop it.
6) The automatic high beams like to turn on and stay on while going through my neighborhood, even though there are plenty of street and house lights all around
7) Is it me, or is the wind noise at highway speeds quite high in this car?

#2,3,4 I figured I'd talk to the dealer next time I stop by, probably at my 5k initial service. I figure I could "collect" little annoyances and take care of them all at once. Are #1, 5, and 6 to be expected on occasion? Or should I be concerned? It's really amazing to me how many different electronics and systems there are in the car so I don't know if I'm being picky and that's just how things go at times, or if I should expect better performance. #7 is something of an idle gripe--nothing really to be done there I don't think.

I really do like the car, but this is the third brand new car I've bought and first one with as many problems as this. I bought it for the vaunted Lexus/Toyota build quality and reliability and so far I'm not really seeing it.
Looks like I'm a bit late to the thread, but here are a few posts I unearthed earlier that echo several of your concerns. They might be for slightly older ES generations (2019-22), but misery loves company, right? You're definitely not alone in thinking your car has a flair for the dramatic––seems like a lot of ES owners share similar experiences, myself included. And those growing pains... well, they can be as stubborn as a houseguest who overstays their welcome. While I'd love to meticulously match my posts to your specific issues, that sounds suspiciously like work!

Everyone's value quotient is different. Only you can determine whether the accumulation of minor annoyances tips the scales from mild irritation to a full-blown "Hulk smash!" or a Clark Griswold Christmas Vacation meltdown. It's funny (not funny) how the tiniest squeak or rattle can unleash a torrent of frustration that would make the Tasmanian Devil proud. Trust me, I've been there!

@UltraLux22 This is a great summary but just a suggestion: rename the URL's so they describe the problem, like in the first one "wind+nosie", I think more people would click on them.

My two cents on this issue: I almost didn't buy the ES because of all the 8 speed transmission shifting complaints. I test drove a '23 and the only thing I noticed was the transmission downshifted too easily with gas pedal pressure. I have the exact same issue on my '24, the tranny downshifts with light pedal pressure relative to what I was used to in other cars but its not a show stopper.

The only other "problem" I have experienced was 2-3 times since I've owned the car (2600 miles) I felt a harsh downshift when coming to a complete stop. Once I was driving down hill in my driveway and it happened just as I was coming to a stop at the bottom, kind of a "lurch/harsh stop" but not from the brakes. I can't imagine it was a 2-1 downshift since I doubt it ever got into second gear but how can there be a harsh downshift from 1st gear to a stop?. I hardly ever drive on the highway, but I do lots of rolling left turns at stop lights and never experienced a hesitiation upon re-acceleration (as others have reported).

I hope the jerky problem doesn't appear later in the car's life, right now I'm OK with the shifting.

Thanks!! Oh, I wholeheartedly agree with you and definitely considered doing just that. But, yeah, you did read the part about "While I'd love to meticulously match my posts to your specific issues, that sounds suspiciously like work!"
