Depends on the type of Fram filter. They make a range of filters from inferior, rot-gut, low-cost models, to high-end, well-respected (tested well) models like the Fram Endurance and the Fram Ultra Synthetic. Don't throw out the baby with the bath water!

Other premium filters to consider...Purolator Boss (not available yet for the 300h), Amsoil, Mann, Mobil 1, Royal Purple and Wix XP.
