Default tire noise? Michelin or Bridgestone

I just bought a 2020 ES 350 with 15k miles. While driving today, it seems like the tires are noisy. Are the Bridgestone Turanza tires know for being noisy, or am I being overly sensitive. I have always used Michelin tires for replacements and love those. With so little miles on these, I am not itching to replacement them yet.
Do you think the dealer will help in switching them with the factory? ( did not purchase from dealer)
Any Thoughts are appreciated
Brian

The OEM tires are not well loved on this car. The Michelins (I think maybe "MXM Energy Savers"?) are not as good in most ways as the Michelins you'd buy as aftermarket replacements (Primacy being at the front of the list). The Bridgestones have even fewer admirers than that.

OEM tires generally are chosen with a priority on gas mileage, since EPA rules say you have to sell the car with exactly the equipment you tested it with, and there are steep financial costs to carmakers if they fall short of MPG targets. So, the ultimate fix is aftermarket tires. There are multiple threads here on which ones buyers like.

I've had two sets of Bridgestones on different cars and they got noisy after 12k miles. Never will buy that brand again.

If your installer doesn’t balance the tires properly they can get noisy. Lots of shops like to balance wheels static only and that can lead to noise down the road. Also bad shocks/struts or other suspension related components can also cause noise.

My OEM Michelins were very noisy so I bought new Michelin Primacys.

Dealer gave my CPO some Dunlop Conquests at 5/32 depth left, 235/45 R18. Pretty loud. Been thinking about Goodyear QuietComfort Assurance in 225/50 R18 to get a bit more narrow and a bit higher sidewall.

I replaced my OEM Bridgestone Turanza EL440’s at 20,000 miles because the noise was driving me nuts. Still had 5/32” of tread, but I was no longer enjoying driving my car. Should’ve done it a few thousand miles sooner. Bought Michelin Primacy Tour A/S. Loving the ride again.

I'm glad to see so many Michelin fans here. It's my go to tire whenever I replace my OEM tires on all of my vehicles and has been for decades. It's good to know that people like the Primacy for the ES.

that's what I am faced with now, except I will be doing it thousands of miles prior, not wanting to wait. Thank you for your input. Are they still quiet?

thank you everyone for sharing what you experienced. The system also linked similar post about tires and most of them hated the Bridgestone tires and many switched to Michelin. I think I will purchase the Primacy style. These seem to be the overall favorite. The bridgestone I have look good for 15k miles on them, plenty of tread, but my
Next stop, Costco for new tires.
Brian

Additional info update: I lowered the psi to 32 and it seems to be a little bit quieter. I might drive off some tread before I scrap these tires and replace.

I have had an LS430 since 2003 when I got it new. I have had Goodyear Eagles (terrible), Bridgestone (OEM) and Michelin MVX or such. The Michelin were way better and dramatically quieter. They told me during Covid they could not get that, and sold me Yokohama. Ok, but not like Michelin. Just my luck they'll probably last 80,000 miles.

For my 2001 LS430 I tried the Yokohama based on reviews and were very noisy and luckily a road hazard got one tire and instead of paying for another inferior tire went back to Michelins. Just shows you that reviews are a small part in tire decision. For my 2020 ES300h UL the Michelin energy saver is what I have stuck with and happy.

”with so little miles on these” I fully agree 15,000 miles on a quality tire should have a lot of tread life ahead. BUT every ES and ESh comes out of the factory with a disclaimer sticker on the right rear window saying that 15,000 miles may be the end of the tires’ life. (Visit any Lexus showroom, check it out) Perhaps seeing this sticker will make it easier on your conscience if you wind up buying. I agree with others that Michelin is the best tire for your ES. Best wishes with your new Lexus!

My original Bridgestones aren't the quietest with only 12k miles. We'll see as I add more miles down the road. May go Michelins when time comes.

I've posted this in other threads, but the OEM Bridgestone Turanza EL440’s that my car came with are the worst tires I have ever had. Tire Rack has some really low ratings on them. I saw horrible braking times, horrible cornering, horrible from stop to go, I actually had them slip a couple times, etc.. I swapped them out the first month with the Michelin Primacy Touring A/S's which is what I had on another previous car and they really are great tires. I saw 0 difference in gas mileage and a way better drive.
