I have a 2020 ES 350 F Sport with the Adjustable Variable Suspension with 80k miles and am researching a future preventive strut and shock replacement.
I wish I would of known about the F Sport without AVS before purchasing as I am in sticker shock on the 4k+ price tag on labor and parts for all 4.
I was unable to locate any information on the forums but after researching all the OEM parts I note that 350 was sold in an F Sport w/o AVS (No Sport+).
1) Has anyone heard of or completed swapping the AVS shock absorbers and struts to the non/AVS ones? If so, any complications?
2) Is this quote in line with others for all AVS 4 struts and shocks? My question above (if possible) would save over 2k as the normal shock absorbers are $87 vs $500+ each.
Thank You

This is the precise reason I opted for the FSport sans AVS when I bought mine new in 2018. Did you ask the installer if you could merely replace with non adaptive? Or perhaps check with a dealer?

Is there anything wrong with your shocks?

I’m not looking at replacing this very moment but I’d like to have a rough budget for upcoming maintenance in the next 20-50k miles. If this is really going to cost 4k+ it may make sense to upgrade or at the very least mark the funds as reserved now. I am simply looking anyone who’s changed these to give me a cost estimate of what they’ve paid and if they were able to replace with the non adaptive. I’ve contacted 3 dealers and they all could not help me unless I have an actual problem now.

I’d say just enjoy the AVS and get regular shocks when they go out. Plus, if you sell the car before they go out, you’re gonna have to reinstall them or the potential buyer is going to lowball you because they will have to pay to get them reinstalled.

I think replacing them at 100k as preventive is crazy. These are not maintenance items. if they fail, ie leak, then replace as needed. I suggest you stop reading "all over" places unless they are confirmed knowledgeable of what they are talking about. I see too many people who say they know ?for a fact", but IN fact, they have no true learned education except how to BS online.
The dealerships probably felt the same way when you asked them the question and were leary to go down that rabbit hole.
Remember what Abe Lincoln said. " don't believe everything you read on the internet"
These are my opinions but I do have years of professional learned education in the automotive service field and I am trying to help.
Enjoy your car, and don't throw your money away on advice you read online.
