I understand people could be leery of privacy by using navigation capabilities of Apple and Google. Unfortunately by agreeing to the ToS before using our iPhones or Androids we are somewhat sharing this info even when not using the navigation. Just look into the multiple ToS of Apple, Samsung, Google; is scary.
Unless we go back to Nokias, Qualcom, BB there's no point to not use those excellent features because privacy. Trust me, even when they show face claiming "identifiable" data collection there is enough evidence and plaintiffs to the contrary. They are the "Peeping Tom Neighbors" of our digital age.
IMHO there's no denial that smartphone NAV is much better than native NAV. That's almost a fact; and eventually more car makers will start dropping native nav. Ferrari just started:

While GM is teaming up with Google to develop GM's native solution, GM's going to be the final decider on the system installed as well as the subscription fee setter and collector.

GM doesn't agree. They're dropping Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support in favor of their own native navigation and infotainment solution.

There's a reason why, when US parts suppliers are surveyed on their opinions of their relationships with component suppliers for their vehicles, Toyota comes in first every year with the best, most cooperative and mutually beneficial relationships, while GM always comes in dead last. It's because their CEO's compensation is tied to the stock price, which fluctuates in the American system like a weather vane in concert with quarterly profits. GM will never take the long view of anything, but as consumers we must. Which is why I'm never very inclined to buy or recommend a GM product.

10 year remote start
My 2019 ES UL will be 6 Y.O. in December. I dropped the subscription and the free trial ran out almost 3 years ago. I don't have Enform or any other program with Lexus and don't pay for anything. Everything works the same including free remote start for 10 years. I think the only feature you will lose is the updating of maps. Voice commands, manual entry, all the same, no change. Hope this answers your question.
Why don’t I have the 10 remote start?? Was that only for the original owner?
Thanx

But I don't trust GM. They'll probably develop a partnered (subscription $ based) NAV solution that most likely stop updating in 3-4 years in favor of a new trim/model. Why spend money in R&D and increased car's cost/price. Let the software giants work on NAV and focus on better phone connection/compatibility.
Their reasoning for this was cited as driver distraction caused by cell phone usage behind the wheel.
I prefer to upgrade my phone than my car for this.

Lead Lap
According to the Lexus 2021 MY CONNECTED SERVICES TRIAL, RENEWAL AND APPLICABILITY chart (pdf) for the 2021 ES, the trial period for Remote/Remote Connect (including remote start) is 3 years. After that you need a $80 per year paid subscription. The ES 2021 model year was also one of the model years Lexus limited Safety Connect to just a 3 year trial period.

Note that you can remote-start your car at short range directly from the key fob with no subscription and no fee. It's not full capability, but it's not $80 either.

Wow! I'm surprised and disappointed that Lexus took away the 10 year free RS feature after 2019. That, coupled with the subscription for navigation sucks on Lexus' part. Depending on what other manufacturer's are offering, I'd look at other cars.. I guess it's smart to just keep the 2019 with the benefits. Thanks for the info grp52. I had no idea that they changed all of this.
I think for the 2019 model year for the key fob remote start functionality all you needed was any active (trial or paid) subscription to any of the connected services. Since the 2019 Service and Safety Connected trial periods were/are 10 years that would give you 10 years for the key fob remote start functionality. I also think that may have changed with the 2020 model year where key fob remote start functionality was tied directly to needing an active Remote/Remote Connect connected service subscription.

Go to the "Service" icon at the bottom. Then click "Make Appointment"; and you should have an option below "Call Dealer" that says "Service History". Press that and it will show the history. At least on mine does; each "Date" is also clickable to view the service details.Hope helps.
