Just listen to this: I got OEM (from a dealer) front and rear disks, front and rear brake pads, front and rear hardware (complete, even the shims) for 520 dollars shipped on Ebay,
I checked on Napa, Auto Zone, Advance AP... and I was not able to find anything for that price.

I would never go with aftermarket parts, not even If I would save 30%.

so $400 is a reasonable labor cost plus parts.
SF Bay area here and this is on my 17 ES350.

My local reputable inde shop quoted $350 per axle if i bring my own parts. I can get all 4 OEM rotors and pads for ~$500. Add $750 labor and $500 parts, total is ~$1250.
Brake flush they want another $200. All in all, around $1500 for the whole job. Lexus dealer quote over $2.2K.

$750 is just insane. That's a 2 hour job.

My bad, it is $700 labor, still insane. That's why I haven't had it done yet, only has 46K miles on her.
This is SF Bay Area, seems like everyone grows money on trees (except me).

Brakes for the Corvette front and rear... $200.00 per axle I bought the brakes at Rock auto. Brake fluid flush and refill... $90.00 I bought the pure synthetic brake fluid at Walmart.
Can hardly believe that the stealership wants $2200.00. No wonder people avoid them.

Never been to Redding, a little too "Country" for me, the farthest I have gone north by car is Eureka.
Last year we were pretty close to Lake Forest, visited Laguna and Newport Beach after a few crazy days in Disneyland and Universal Studio Hollywood.

The only problems I've had doing my own brakes are from rust. Seized rotors, pads jammed in the bracket, seized sliding pins - all salt/rust related. THis is with OEM.
I starterd removing and lubing the pads every 1-2 years which really helped and every time I rotate tires I jiggle the rotors so they dont rust to the hub.
Shoes are actually lower maintenance than pads IMO.
I gravity bleed the fluid to flush the system which is slow, effective and simple.

Just got a new quote from another reputable (5 star yelp rating 380 reviews), they quotes $550 labor for Front/Rear pads/rotors install and brake fluid flush.
I think $550 labor is reasonable consider the high cost of living area here......
