Does Lexus collect information about us and our use of our cars? We do have to 'login' to our car (Lexus app on our phones, and Lexus Connect, etc.) so is personal information collected? Does Lexus sell that information?

You would be surprised to what we have to agree in the disclaimers to use the services. I think it refers to third party partners but not sure since long time ago reading.

I think you have to make an additional request to your dealer if you don't want them sharing your information.

 

There was a recent thread, Does Lexus collect our driving history, discussing the details on this. Every owner's manual has a URL that links to (US) Lexus's latest PRIVACY NOTICE - Connected Services. That web page also contains a Download Privacy Notice for downloading a pdf copy which assembles the web site's multiple tabbed web pages into a single document.

 

You can go online to Toyota and tell them not to sell your information. I did it a few months ago and it works fine. It has a few steps and took about two weeks to get the final confirmation but it’s easy.
