Default Suspicions Confirmed

FNC reports Lexus is named as one of the auto manufacturer defendants in suit by Texas DOJ for allegedly gathering and selling Lexus drivers’/owners’ driving habits and related data.
Another recent thread here discussed this.
This is an outrage. If suspicions confirmed, a huge class action law suit should be filed.

Correction: Suit by Texas Attorney General not US DOJ
Sorry.

Never doubt it. Even Google and Apple have been on similar accusations; as data = $$$. Every iPhone or Android phone is capturing some "unidentifiable" (yeah right) data of us; even when permissions are disabled. How many of us read the multiple TOS when setting up our phones? We are basically consenting to this. So unless we go back to Qualcom, Nokia, Ericson phones, were are very vulnerable to this.

Then there is the issue of our "Private" info been company hacked and available for download on the dark web.

Hopefully they get slapped with a BIG $$$ penalty.

Thanks for the info!

Just Google it. FNC named Lexus as a collector. Not yet named in suit as a seller of the info. We’ll see how story developes.

I have "Googled" it, which is why I'm asking for your link. I don't see it. Is there a reason you aren't sharing it, or is it because you're making it up?

Look, fellah, this morning Fox and other networks all over the Internet reported Texas suit against GM for data gathering and selling. FNC reported Lexus and others believed to be collecting. Lexus not yet sued because evidence of its selling the data not yet gathered.
No need for me to “make up” anything. What’s wrong with you? I accept your apology.

This is very good news indicating this area of privacy is getting needed attention. Toyota will be more defensive in nature regarding our privacy as a result, hopefully.

This is an important subject but I’ve googled this and only found articles about the Texas suit against GM.

PM once there is some detail that can be linked about Lexus being party to this lawsuit and I will reopen. Until then there are at least 2 other large threads on this topic.
