well,

a quick update.. I did leave a deposit on the car. but apparently Red/Flaxen is Special order only, and whatever was out there was also special ordered and sold. So dealer called up the factory and changed a black and flaxen ultra luxury to red for me. Should receive the car in November, right when December to Remember is starting. so it worked out, as I will wait to get the best deals possible on the car.

Too early to lease these cars, the numbers will be terrible. If you wait a couple months you'll be able to lease this car in the mid to upper $500s.

So true. People really just need to just be patient. This is not the Porsche 911 we are talking about. ES is a mass volume car. It's not a matter of if but when 10% off will be offered to anyone and everyone that walks through their doors. My bet that day is close when the 18s clear the lot.

BTW Shouldn't a price paid thread be created soon?

You are right that the same classification cannot be applied to two different brands, but residual value is determined by corporate via market research and is not publicly accessible (unlike money factor, which can be derived from effective interest rate).

Essentially, you do your own research and come up with your own RV based on the going offers and you present it as such to the dealerships. They come back with a counter and hopefully it arrives at the happy medium for both parties, which is 1% of the OTD or MSRP if you feel indebted to whomever selling the vehicle.

Note: my personal 1% includes $0 downpayment (drive-off is different story since you do make the first payment to entice the dealership for the 0 down).
