If CA issues two plates to you you have to put one in the front. If they give you one plate, you only need it in the back. Nevada was different, If you have a plate bracket in the front, you have to put a license plate in the front. If you dont have a bracket, you dont have to put a plate in the front. Strange laws

Nevada law says "if the manufacturer offers an add-on bracket" which from my experience is put in the trunk of every car I've bought. Many cars came with two holes pre-drilled in the front bumper.

I guess you can split hairs on that one.

Has anyone installed the platypus holder on the ES? If so, have you had any issues with the safety systems in the front. https://www.cravenspeed.com/front-li...-lexus-es-350/

When I got my ES 300h the dealer put the bracket on for me. Do you have the correct brackett and does it line up at the correct position?

You might want to check your ES has the towing eyelet option. On my US assembled ES UL, there is no towing eyelet cover/access to be found on the front bumper. Where the Owner's manual diagrams show where the covers should be there's just the same seamless, smooth plastic as the rest of the plastic bumper cover in that area.

Thanks - I have a ES300 UL on order and was thinking of telling the dealer not to install the front license holder, but will reconsider.
